Objectives

According to the foundation’s statutes, the Open Rivers Programme aims to restore endangered European rivers by supporting interventions that lead to the removal of dams and the restoration of river flow and biodiversity, and furthermore to do all that is related or conducive to the above.

The Foundation intends to achieve this objective by:

  • setting up a programme for providing grants and loans to third parties for removing dams, or for doing anything related or conducive to this;
  • supporting activities that result in the removal of dams;
  • promoting the programme set up by the foundation;
  • identifying and attracting funders for the programme set up by the foundation.

Policy plan

The Policy Plan summarises the statutory framework, strategy, policy, activities, finances, and governance of the Stichting.

Remuneration policy

Members of the Supervisory Board are not remunerated for the activities they carry out. However, they are entitled to an attendance fee for meetings and for any other costs incurred by them to perform their duties. The reward for directors and other employees is determined by the Supervisory Board.
