The Open Rivers programme is pleased to support a further 20 projects aimed at revitalising river flows and biodiversity across Europe. The projects span 14 countries including Turkey, Germany, Netherlands, and Finland, where the programme has supported projects for the first time.

Today, ANP|WWF began work on their first-ever barrier removal – the Galaxes weir in Alcoutim – which will restore the river connectivity of 7.7 km of Ribeira de Odeleite.

In Champagnac-la-rivière, France, the “Les Planches” weir on the River Tardoire has been removed! The work started in December and was completed at the beginning of January.
