This morning, the Portuguese Environment Agency, Rewilding Portugal and the Côa Park Foundation signed a collaboration protocol to develop a common strategy to analyze the technical, environmental, ecological and social feasibility of removing the Foz Côa cofferdams.

One of the first programme-supported dam removals is scheduled to take place this month

Project works are expected to begin this week for the demolition of the Scotton Weir on the River Nidd in England. The weir removal project is led by river conservation charity the Wild Trout Trust and is one of the first programme-supported barrier removals to take place!

ANP | WWF is set to begin work on their programme-supported barrier removal at the end of July

On July 25th, Associação Natureza de Portugal (ANP) in association with WWF (ANP|WWF), in partnership with the Municipality of Alcoutim, will begin the demolition of the Galaxes Weir on the Odeleite River.
